Reconstruction

If I may lay there,
like a glowing ember.

What once was a house,
now reduced to small.

A piece of wood,
set on fire,
with nothing left to burn.

God picks me up,
puts me in a pit,
of other embers,
so I will not die.

There He will reconstruct me,
of something indestructible,
with a glowing ember heart,
organic and inorganic,
a new and spiritual house.

The heart of flesh,
is what remains of my humanity,
the treasure God has sought.

Uncovered by the fire,
that destroyed my self,
now lives in me.

Burning,
but no longer consuming,
like the bush.

God may speak.

This is the Church.

snow

Snow so bright,
lights up long winter nights.

Grey days set ablaze,
by every starry whiteness.

Softly blowing,
sweet caressing,
of earth, tree and shrub.

Sheer abundance,
cause to pause.

Breath and feel,
alive.

Muscle aches and skin glowing,
reminding of our smallness.

A tender thing, deserving of respect and wisdom,
such power over life and death.

No beauty without pain,
no comfort without sacrifice.

The soul hungers,
for what the spirit remembers.

Let There Be Light

I love the freshness and lightness of November, the wind sweeping away the old in preparation for the most beautiful time of the year, when we celebrate the Light of the world stepping down into darkness...

Hope

Unfurling leaf and fragrant bud;
Oh how I miss you!
Hum of bee and clapping leaves;
Green for sight and warm soil touch.
Icy fingers hold you back;
my heart is looking forward.
Patience is trying;
A heart so eager,
To feel color, sound, and heat.
Thankfulness is blessed;
Passion and joy feel best.
What was,
Was.
What is,
Is.
But what can be,
Moves me.

His Presence

He serenades me with the song of a thousand birds,
and comforts me with the rays of the sun.

The wind is full of His passion and purpose.

The snow falls gently around and upon me,
like His presence,
bringing His peace and the wonder of Him.

There is nothing that can compare with this blessing.

Nothing.

I had to learn that.

I will never forget.
